1.) A couple of days ago Grant and I were making waffles (we cook a lot together) and he smelled the batter and said...
" ewww... mells yike dinosaur bones."
Then he tasted the batter...
"ewww... tastes yike dog food."
The good news is, when the waffles were cooked, he said they tasted like waffles- so it all worked out!
2.) Tonight when I was reading bedtime stories with Grant he chose a "My First Old Testament Book"- a book over his head so I try and explain the stories the best I can for a 2 1/2 year old. We got to the page about Jonah getting swallowed by a great fish because he didn't want to serve a mission. So I told Grant that Jonah went to time-out in a great, big fish's tummy. And Grant looked at me and said,
"mama, can I go to time-out in a whale's tummy?"
Apparently, time-out on the floor isn't bad enough.
3.) Yesterday, after I finished blow drying my hair, Grant put his hands on my cheeks and said,
"Mama, you aw bootiful!"
It's moments like that, that I realize how blessed I am to have my kids! Grant drives me crazy with his screaming, irrational demands and public meltdowns, but I love his energy and the sweet moments that we have together.

The last story is so sweet! I am hoping that since he doesn't really know what dinosaur bones smell like, I hope that he doesn't really know what dog food tastes like either. However, Bailey was trying to get to the dog food at my brother's house the other day, so I guess he might actually know what it tastes like since Bailey was trying to eat the dog food. I am glad it all turned out!
