Tuesday Toddler Conversations

1.) Grant was using my wooden spoon as a sword and he hit me with it. so I put him in timeout. while I was taking care of Maddie he comes out with another wooden spoon and I asked him to put it back or he would get another TO- in a nearly perfect british accent he says,

"you have nothing to fear!"

What has he been watching?

2.) We were almost finished reading Peter Rabbit and Grant stops me and says, "I can't yike dis one. It's too dangerous." (Sorry Peter, I guess we'll never know how your book ends.)

Toddler Conversations: Part 2

1.) A couple of days ago Grant and I were making waffles (we cook a lot together) and he smelled the batter and said...

" ewww... mells yike dinosaur bones."

Then he tasted the batter...

"ewww... tastes yike dog food."

The good news is, when the waffles were cooked, he said they tasted like waffles- so it all worked out!

2.) Tonight when I was reading bedtime stories with Grant he chose a "My First Old Testament Book"- a book over his head so I try and explain the stories the best I can for a 2 1/2 year old. We got to the page about Jonah getting swallowed by a great fish because he didn't want to serve a mission. So I told Grant that Jonah went to time-out in a great, big fish's tummy. And Grant looked at me and said,

"mama, can I go to time-out in a whale's tummy?"

Apparently, time-out on the floor isn't bad enough.

3.) Yesterday, after I finished blow drying my hair, Grant put his hands on my cheeks and said,

"Mama, you aw bootiful!"

It's moments like that, that I realize how blessed I am to have my kids! Grant drives me crazy with his screaming, irrational demands and public meltdowns, but I love his energy and the sweet moments that we have together.

Toddler Conversations

1.) Yesterday, Grant and I were making chocolate cookies and he stuck his finger in the sugar and said. "Look Mom, my finger is hiding!"

2.) Grant likes to pick up our Scripture cases and cart them around the house- he thinks he's going to work.

Grant: Bye mommy, I go to work now.

Me: Ok, what are going to do at work?

Grant: Huh?

Me: You're going to bring home the bacon?

Grant: Yeth, Bacon and Bue-berries.

3.) We were having a family Movie popcorn party and while Grant was eating the popcorn he says "Mmm mells (smells) dood (good). Tastes Yucky."

4.) He got a popsicle for going #2 on the potty and he said, " Mmm... my tongue yikes dis."

5.) Grant had finished his dinner and then declared "I need SUGAR!" , we have also heard him declare that he needs SALT! (Grant has more energy than any kid I have ever met so we limit the sugar, but he still craves it!)

Catch Up!

This is why I only have time to post once a month- my arms are getting fuller. I love my kids and we spend a lot of time snuggling and now it takes 5 times longer to get anything done.

Grant got a trampoline for Christmas to help him get his wiggles out.

This is where Madelynn goes when I need to get ready for the day.

Grant smiling for family pictures.

Grant catching a ride on Jeff.

This is what two kids in diapers looks like, although Grant is in the process of potty training.

My naughty little kitchen helper.

Madelynn's Baby Blessing Part 2

We were excited to bless baby Madelynn on Nov. 29. It was a really special time for our family. My parents and Grandma Noyes came into town along with Chris' parents and brother Stephen. We weren't able to get everyone in one picture so here is the second post with the rest of the fam with Madelynn.
