January and Zoie Turns 1!

The weather has been crazy! One day it will be 55 outside and the next day the high will be 14.  So pretty up and down with not very much snow.  One day we got 1/2 inch of snow, barely covered the ground, but since we all had cabin fever we thought it would be nice to go out and play.  Grant and Maddie loved it, but Zoie was really unhappy.

To give Grant something extra to do during this bleak month.  I started teaching him piano lessons.  So far he is really enjoying it.

Maddie loves Zoie and gets easily distracted by her cuteness.  Maddie insists that they sit next to each other at meals.

Super Maddie with her official cape on.

Our little sweetie turned 1 on January 30th!  I can't believe how fast the time has gone.  She is such a delight and we are really grateful to have her in our family.

Grant and Maddie LOVE to celebrate birthdays.  So they were very eager to help decorate a banner for Zoie.

This was her first taste of cupcake and she thought it was just alright.  She was more concerned about the frosting on her hands and wanting me to wipe it off.

Since Grant and Maddie love to help so much, I decided to let them help me make and decorate the cake.  So I went for a simple design that wouldn't stress me out with little helping hands.

Zoie really looks up to Grant and Maddie!

This little girl is so silly. She loves to put things on her head.  So far I have caught her with bread pans, colanders, underwear, socks, blankets etc.

She is also a major rummager and destroys the kitchen while I'm cooking.

Some of her favorite foods are: bananas, peas, chicken, raisins, graham crackers, and applesauce.  Whenever she sees someone pulling out food she will smack her lips so that you know she wants some too.  She is now blowing kisses, waves bye-bye, and loves to dance whenever she hears a tune.  Love her to pieces!  Happy Birthday Little Cat Z.

Christmas and 11 months

December was so busy and so fun that I just now barely have enough brain to blog about it.  The pictures are not all in chronological order, but I'm pleased that this post is even happening.

We were delighted to have most of Chris' immediate family visit us this year.  His brother Jeff couldn't come, with good reason- his wifey, Kayla was very pregnant.

Zoie also just recently turned 11 months over the holiday break so I have to sandwich these two posts.

She is our busy baby.  She is getting braver and I have found her in funny places.

Grandma Kathy with her little zebra girls.

This is the best we could get with three wiggly girls! The kids loved having Nora around.

We visited the Museum of Science and Industry- Grant loved the chicks hatching and probably could have stayed there all day.

Chris standing in front of his old Seattle work office at the museum (the tall black one.)

Loved having a full house for Christmas!

This little girl was moving her index finger around- mimicking us as we navigate on the phone.

We reenacted the nativity.  My mom made accessories and mustaches=  fool proof fun.

The three wise men.  I couldn't stop laughing. In fact, I'm still laughing right now.

Our family made gingerbread houses for the local library.  Kids loved it!
