We have had such a fun and busy November that it went by so fast! Madelynn is now 5 weeks and just such a sweetie. Grant really loves her and is getting more adjusted to having a new little person in the house. At Madelynn's 10 day pediatric appt. the nurse gave Maddie a poke for her PKU screening, so of course she started crying and Grant shoved the nurse to try and get her to stop "hurting" his sister.
Below Grant told Maddie that he loved her.
Although, 20 minutes later he got really upset about the attention Madelynn was getting. We have had a few instances where he really gets upset that she is getting the attention.
He likes to act like a baby sometimes too. I have found him sucking on her pacifiers and fake crying- because when she cries, she gets picked up and attended to.
Madelynn has started smiling, but I haven't caught any really good, awake "gummers" yet. But she is a very happy and snuggly baby. Here is one of her sleepy gummers.
She loves to look at lights.
Not sure if she is about to cry or smile. My happy parents came for Thanksgiving and Madelynn's baby blessing. In the background you can see an awesome teepee that my mom made for Grant!
We hosted Thanksgiving at our house and really had a nice time. I forgot to take pictures with people at our party, I promise we had family over. I do feel bad for Chris though, he got the stomache flu that morningy and so he stayed in the back all day and didn't feel good enough to eat anything. By the time he was feeling better all the leftovers were gone. Sorry sweetie, I'll make you a mini turkey sometime soon :)

You had your baby! So did the Parrys! Time flys!!!
I did hear about some of the things that you guys went through in the pregnancy from some of the girls here. I am SO glad that everything was alright. What a blessing!
And how cute is that about Grant pushing that nurse? So cute and protective! Be patient with him. It gets better, eventually. And it also gets better because as Maddie gets older, you won't be as terrified at her getting squashed by Grant.
I could give you a lot more advice on sibling rivalry if you want. Email me if you're interested. But if not, know that I (and so many other moms) empathize with you.
What an adorable family. Little Madelynn is so lucky to have such a protective brother. The greatest joy I ever get is when I see my two little squirts helping each other. I am so glad that things are going well. I can't believe you hosted Thanksgiving with a newborn. Seriously, no sleep and constant feedings. It boggles my brain just thinking about it!
Yay for new pictures!
That is so cute that Grant is protective of Madelynn.
Luke used to get upset about Ella taking up the attention too. So sad when the world doesn't revolve around the oldest any more! haha.
Hang in there, it gets better! :)
I love that Grant pushed the nurse! So funny. I looked at the pictures before I read what you wrote and thought, "Wow, she looks just like Grant when he was a baby." Oh, that was Grant.
We missed you guys at Thanksgiving this year! We had no rainbow jello salad.
I love seeing sibling resemblance. You have two cute kiddos!
Emma also likes to lay down and act like a baby. She's getting better now. She would even sit on my knees when I double-nursed the twins.
Looks like a great Thanksgiving!
