Catch Up!

Yikes! It has been more than a month since we posted, but we have been so busy with stuff and then we went on vacation. So now that we have vacationed and relaxed a little, I have enough brain energy to share our happenings.

Grant loves to "Wa, Mommy": Watch/help mommy. When I don't have time for Grant to help me, I put him in charge of making alphabet soup. It was chewy, but delicious!

Anytime Grant sees one of Chris' shirts he'll snuggle it and say "Daddy". The next step involves putting Daddy's shirt on.

We had a laundy mishap a couple weeks ago. I let Grant help put dirty clothes in the washer, but I got a phone call and walked away for like 30 secs. When I switched the wet clothes over to the dryer I found: a tennis ball, a hand puppet, bottle of nailpolish (which didn't open) and sadly, his Silly Sally Book (one of our favorites), completely destroyed- Silly Sally will never go to town, walking backwards, upsidedown again :( - at least until we buy another copy.

Last week we drove to MD to visit my brother Scott and his super cute little family! Grant and his cousin Olivia got a long extremely well! She liked to hold his hand a lot and when he was done holding hands, he would pry her fingers off of his.

Grant was teaching Olivia how to play in a dirty, asphault water hole- a Must if you want to be successful in life!

Scott took us for a walk along the Potomac river!

Grant and Olivia could have spent hours throwing rocks into the Potomac.

We visited the Natural History Smithsonian- super fun!

Chris showing me what a man he is- trying to push over the Washington Monument. Actually he was trying to show Grant how to push it over, but Grant wasn't in the mood.

My professional shot of the monument.

Hey, Abe. As we were walking from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial (which, btw, is a LONG walk), we walked by the reflection pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Remember how Grant likes to throw stuff into water? Yeah, he managed to throw both his sippy cup and snack trap into the reflection pool (at separate times). Fortunately, Chris was able to quickly get down flat and grab them before they floated away, but that boy has quite an arm!

When we came out of the DC Aquarium (I wouldn't recommend- super lame!, but not to be confused with the Baltimore Aq. which I heard was super awesome) we saw cops blocking off all the roads, helicopters in the sky, and 5 black SUV's drive down the street. I have a feeling someone very important was in one of the cars.
