She's At It Again!

KaraLee has gotten quite into quilting this summer. You may have seen the quilt she made for her sister Kristen earlier this summer. KaraLee made this one for her mom. It took quite a bit of time but she enjoyed the process and the end result. This quilt will be a piano runner in her mom's house. KaraLee's got a lot of natural talent and is making some beautiful quilts. :)

Posting to Catch Up

We're sorry it's been so long since our last post, but life has been moving quickly for our little family. The business is at least partially driven by Grant's endless movement. :) Here are some photos from our recent adventures.

I played softball with the law firm team this Summer. It was a good time and Grant enjoyed the games probably almost as much as I did! One of the fun things about Grant is how much he enjoys sports, and balls in particular. He paid close attention to the games and how we were throwing the ball and has been mimicking ever since. It's pretty funny to watch a baby properly cock the ball behind his ear and throw the ball the right way.

This picture (above) and the four below are from a hike we took with the law firm. We hiked about 2 miles up a mountain just east of North Bend to Rattlesnake Ridge for a 1200 foot elevation gain. The hike was fairly intense, but the views were well worth it and Grant enjoyed playing by the lake. Plus he got a free ride up a mountain, courtesy of his mom and dad!

We took a day trip out to my Aunt & Uncle's cabin on Hood Canal. The weather was perfect. KaraLee took a kayak out on the Canal, which she enjoyed, and Grant was surrounded by rocks - seventh heaven!

The last of these pictures are from a hike we took with my family when Bryan, his fiancee Kristin, and Stephen were town. We went up to Denny Creek and enjoyed a good afternoon of hiking. Again, Grant enjoyed the free ride. :)

We very much enjoyed our time in Seattle and the opportunity to get out and experience the beautiful Northwest.

Happy Birthday Grant!

Today was a big day for our little family. Grant turned 1 and he met his great Grandparents (GGma and GGpa Anderson). I can't believe how fast time has gone. It is crazy to think that one year ago we welcomed our new baby into the world. Our little baby is now running around the house and getting into everything he can find.

4 weeks old.

I thought it would be fun to make Grant a Froggy cake for his birthday. Kathy was nice enough to help with the frosting and frogs:)

Quilting and Sailing

We've been having a great time since we arrived in Washington! For starters, Chris' mom has been nice enough and patient enough to teach me how to quilt! Yeah, for more skills! So below is the table runner that I quilted for my sister.

And... Chris has made some nice friends at work, so yesterday we were invited to go sailing on the Puget Sound. We had a great time (especially since I took a few dramamine - and Grant was well behaved.)
