Summer Time Fun!

My sweet Grandma Noyes wanted to get Grant something special for his birthday, so she bought him this awesome kiddie pool.

Last weekend, Chris' brothers, Jeff and Stephen, came into town for the 4th. While they were here we decided to go for a hike up to Franklin Falls.

Happy Birthday Grant!

Happy Birthday sweet boy! Chris and I have really enjoyed watching Grant grow! He is full of energy and loves to laugh and play. Grant turned 2 on June 25, so to celebrate we went to McDonald's with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson and let Grant go nuts. He had a blast! Then to celebrate his birthday more formally, we invited Grandma and Grandpa Anderson over on Sunday for a nice birthday dinner!

It is amazing how fast babies grow. Grant at 5 months.

Grant at 4 months

Birthday Dinner! He was so excited about the fondant rocks that he didn't care about the pictures, singing happy birthday, or blowing out the candles. Because what is better than edible rocks?

I wanted to make a construction cake for Grant because he is really into trucks and tractors right now! He loved the cake- in fact when he saw me making it he freaked out because he wanted the tractors on top so badly. It was really nice to celebrate Grant's birthday with Chris' parents, he loves having his Damma and Papa so close. Grant received a lot fun toys, which have kept him busy for the last couple of days, which I have also enjoyed!

Side note: He found my hole puncher and thought it would be a good idea to spread them around and then try to eat them. Grant, thank you for always making us laugh!

New House, Happy Grant!

We are excited to have a backyard, or as Grant would say, "Back- ar". I just open up the back door and let Grant run wild- we all love it! Believe it or not, it has only rained once since we moved. I am definitely not complaining- I love the sun! So I have had to turn the hose on to keep the grass alive, which Grant loves.

Thirsty?

This was before I realized that I have to put Grant's swim trunks on whenever the water is on because he wants to get wet and doesn't care what he is wearing.

Grant's idea of a backyard spa treatment.

Our backyard!

Our deck, which has more square footage than our previous apartment.

My cute, dirty little boy.

"I promise I love you Damma and Papa! I'm just being a twinky right now!"

I love my sleeping baby- who is now sleeping in a big boy bed- AKA a twin mattress on the floor.

A Very Informative, Yet Exciting Family Update!

Wow! What a couple of weeks we've had! After Chris graduated from Law School we started the bulk of our preparations for our move to Washington. We are grateful for the opportunity to have lived in Champaign for Law School. We made some super friends and will think fondly of the little soybean and cornfields town. My parents came out to help us drive our car to Issaquah, so before we left for good, we decided to all take a little trip to Nauvoo (Historical LDS Church Site), which we really enjoyed!

Family Living Center- Grant and I are sorting wooden animals.

Grant hugged this "Dad-ee" on his own- cute little guy!

Here's a fun comparison: Grant this year (above) and last year (below).

On Monday Chris starts his Bar preparation class. He'll take the Washington Bar at the end of July! Good luck sweetie!

We just moved into a rental house, which has some features that we're super excited about- a garage and a fenced in backyard!!! Yeah!! Now I can bring my groceries into the house without getting rained on and I can let Grant run wild in the backyard without worrying about him running into the road!!

And lastly, our biggest news yet:

We're expecting a baby girl on Nov. 3rd! Chris and I were both pleasantly surprised to find out we're having a girl - I thought I would have 10 boys before a girl. We're excited to welcome this little lady to our family. :)
